Dean Sultani

I got my start DJing when I met a guy named Jimmy Zimms in Folsom. James was a DJ that worked with me at a coffee shop at the time. I saw him DJ a few times, he invited me to his house to check out the 1200's, and I was hooked. He gave me an old technics turntable with pitch adjust, a pair of headphones, and showed me that DJing was from the heart.

After promoting a few events with Groove Trip, and helping promote and set up a party called "Welcome Home" , I went on to refine my DJ skills and head down my own path of the DJ playing a few parties as well as at the Mirage. In 1998 I began a two year stint as a radio jock with my weekly show called "The Nexus" at Sac State.

More recently, I have had residencies in Folsom at Pachanga playing salsa music, and hosting a funk night on Fridays. I played latin house and salsa gigs at MAS in Roseville, and continue to play fabulous private parties in Sacramento.

If you get anything out of this site, I would want you to free your heart and soul with a love for Electronic music and life in general. Feel free to e-mail me or whatever and let me know what is up in your neck of the woods. I am always interested in what people have to say about music, love, and the great universe that we are a part of.

DJ Hopeful (Jane Chien) is first and foremost a lover of music. Always fascinated with the desire to express herself without words, she resonates with Beethoven's belief that "music is the language of God."

DJ Hopeful's curiosity, passion and desire to learn music in all its forms started at an early age. Finding her musical voice has been a life-long process. She discovered Trance music in 1999 and was swept away by the emotions evoked by Solar Stone's track, Seven Cities.

She knew from that moment on that Trance was the blood that flowed through her veins. She began to go to parties and clubs, searching for the frequency that beckoned yet soothed her. Dance Culture would forever change her life.

It was Paul Oakenfold's Transport which ultimately led her to buy a pair of turntables. Thus began her journey to create her own vibe and sound -- a melodic, euphoric, epic sound mixed with sexiness, entangled with camaraderie.

Among the many who have influenced DJ Hopeful's sound are: Paul Van Dyk, Tiesto, and Victor Dinaire. Every DJ ever encountered has influenced her in one way or another.

She will always be a fan of the music, the people, and especially the DJ. You can usually find DJ Hopeful next to the DJ booth listening and watching intently, captivated by the DJ. Or, you can find her dancing freely in an open space on the dance floor with a smile on her face.

As predominantly a Trance DJ/Producer, DJ Hopeful plans to bring her vibe and sound to Dance Culture. A pioneer of love, her music and parties reflect her strong belief in love and harmony.
